The southern port of Kemer was our group's boat launching spot for an afternoon of puttering about coves in the Mediterranean Sea.
It was nice to take a tatil (TA-teel, vacation) from tourist sites for a day.
Several of us were brave (or foolish) enough to leap off the boat's topmost platform for a swim; others wisely opted for a slow ladder descent into the salty sea.
Without warning we were hailed by pirates, who approached our vessel before our captain could react.
Fortunately they were just ice cream pirates, hawking creamsicles from a cooler. They stuck around for lunch, after which we held a surprise birthday party for tour member Holly.
